During the month of March, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 24 defendants in 16 cases. Among them, 1 was issued final verdict that could not be appealed. Additionally, 29 defendants' papers were referred to the Mufti in 8 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
