During the month of December, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 52 defendants in 31 cases. Among them, 2 were issued final verdicts that could not be appealed. Additionally, 55 defendants' papers were referred to the Mufti in 26 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
