During the month of Septemper, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 31 defendants in 23 cases. Additionally, 21 defendants' papers were referred to the Grand Mufti in 14 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
