During the month of April, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 39 defendants in 29 cases. Among them, 2 were issued final verdicts that could not be appealed. Additionally, 35 defendants' papers were referred to the Grand Mufti in 21 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
