Gasser Abdel Razeq has assumed the position of the Executive Director of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR, Sunday, succeeding Khaled Mansour who held the position since the end of 2013.

Mr. Abdel Razeq is the third Executive Director of EIPR –founded in 2002 by Hosam Bahgat who directed it until 2013.

Mr. Abdel Razeq has worked in the field of human rights since the beginning of the 90s with a number of national and international human rights and developmental organizations. He had previously held the position of Deputy Director of EIPR since 2011.

Mr. Mansour is joining EIPR’s Board of Trustees and will remain active in the field of human rights through research and publishing. The Board of Trustees was founded with the beginning of last year to put in place and monitor the general policies of EIPR in regards to its message and tasks, as well as its long-term strategies, bylaws and budget, to ensure the standards of professionalism and efficiency. Members of the Board of Trustees are volunteers, working with no financial compensation.
